In this day and age it takes more than having a good website to get the word out about your business.
Social media can extend the reach of your marketing and online presence beyond just your website, allowing you interact with a network of potential customers that you wouldn’t have before.
At the same time, social media can be incredibly useful for driving traffic back to your website, with users commenting on, linking to, sharing and recommending your products and services. This in turn can improve the search engine ranking of your website and help you stand out from the competition.
The main social networks that we believe in are:
Facebook is the largest social network in the world, with over one billion active users. For businesses it’s possible to create a page dedicated to your company, where you can share basic information, pictures, videos, deals and news.
Twitter is one of the most popular social networks in the world. Users follow people or companies they are interested in and are provided with a constant stream of short content updates, 140 characters or less in length. Twitter is especially good for linking back to your website when you have deals, new content or news to share.
Pinterest is a content-sharing social network which allows users to collect and organise images related to their interests and hobbies, like an online scrapbook. On a site with lots of imagery, pinterest can be a useful tool for generating traffic to your website as any image pinned from your site will link back to the page it was pinned from.
YouTube is a social network based around video which allows users to upload, discuss and share videos.
Google+ is Google's social network. It allows businesses and individuals to connect with each other, as well as tying in with Googles other search features much more tightly than other social networks.
Google plus is slowly replacing Google places as the main 'official' source of information about your business or service. Details you provide here will often show up in the right hand column when people search for you in Google. Likewise Google plus allows you to link your blog posts and content on any site back to your Google plus account, through a service called 'Authorship'. Being a Google plus Author means your profile picture will show up in search results.
Your Google plus business page allows you to post all the great things you have been up to, and interact with your customers. It also allows you to message them directly through hangouts.
Google plus is much younger than Twitter and Facebook, but with it's tight integration with Google search, it is an increasingly important network to be in.
Say hello if you'd like to discuss the customisation or integration of your social media.
